I downloaded the latest vBulletin a few days ago. I see that they have added forum runner in the download and also added it to the members area of each license copy of vBulletin. No doubt that money changes hands for this to happen. I now think Tapatalk will be at a big disadvantage. I only provide forum runner on my forums just in case there are users who use it. I only use it to test the functionality of it. Did Tapatalk have a chance to be included also? What are the opinions of the developers and owners of Tapatalk think about what vBulletin has done?
19 hours and not one comment or concern? Is this forum dead? I think this is a big deal for Tapatalk and will put them behind forum runner.
There is a reason why FR is added in vB (I posted in vB plugin forum, in reply to an earlier topic from MarkHewitt) http://tapatalk.com/forum/index.php?threads/10127/#post-56215 Maybe Mods will merge to save repeating it all again. Desire HD : CM7.2.0 RC1 : Tapatalk 2.0.1
I did look at recent threads before posting mine, but as you can see the thread title in your link has nothing to do with what was also talk about i that thread.
yeah.. I see your title is better but subject is the same & didn't want to repeat things. Internet Brands owns vBulletin & now owns Forum Runner. That's why it it's in there. Can't see it being a major threat unless they get phpBB, IPBoard, etc.. as well or overhaul the app features (IB aren't renowned for caring about product development). I don't expect IB to provide a long term support for forum softwares other than vBulletin. I don't think I'll be the only one to remove FR from my board. I didn't forget yet how IB released the most clunky and lame forum software ever, 2 years ago. It's a shame they acquired FR, which is, like vB3 was, a great app. I'm not too worried about Tapatalk, it's a great product and a lot of boards are using and advertising it.
Having spent the last two days testing both the 4.1.12 version of vB with ForumRunner Push and the Beta version of Tapatalk push I can tell you Tapatalk has little to fear. The Push from vB/Forum Runner is inconsistent at best. Even though the Tapatalk cron job is set to run every 10 minutes I get almost instant pushes when new posts are added. Tapatalk has a few app issues to deal with but it is still the better product on iPhone and iPad.
