I just downloaded the beta and was hoping to find support for vBSEO Like system. Also, when using it on DroidForums.net, in a reply that quotes a previous message the quoted material is not set apart graphically (indented or a different color). You must hunt through the text for the html markup /Quote to find the end of it. Will either of these two issues be addressed any time soon?

Updated to beta 6 and it is working great, but now I keep getting market update notices for tapatalk.

While I may be mistaken, I'm guessing that's because they're planning on a Market/Play release of Tapatalk 2 soon. You can detach the Tapatalk beta from the market if you use Titanium Backup.

Beta 6 overwrote the original Tapatalk app, not the beta 5 version (Tapatalk 2). Was this intentional? And it didn't preserve the accounts I had in the older app.

EDIT: Somehow I missed the comment in that post that said it would overwrite the Play version. But, still, why wouldn't it bring my accounts forward?

I lost my accounts too. I think the overwrite part was intentional according to winter's post here (Tapatalk 2.0 for Android calling for beta tester!) but it did say it would preserve the info when it installed so that was a bit of a surprise.

My thoughts also. All this work that was done to overhaul the UI in version 2, but yet simple things in the new design guidelines were not followed.

It is disappointing that the action bar was not implemented. The obsolete "menu" button system is cumbersome, and does not mesh well with devices running ICS (try using Tapatalk on a Xoom running ICS, then use the Gmail app that does follow the design standards and you will see what I mean). http://developer.android.com/design/patterns/actionbar.html

One thing I would also have liked to have seen is multi-pane layouts for larger screen devices. This would make Tapatalk so elegant on tablet devices. http://developer.android.com/design/patterns/multi-pane-layouts.html

I know not everyone is running ICS yet, but in the next 6-9 months a lot of existing phones are getting the upgrade. Also, these new design standards are backwards compatible with legacy devices anyways, so why not make a much more elegant app when doing an overhaul?

Are we going to see the ICS design standards in implemented in Tapatalk version 3, when everyone is running Jellybean or Key Lime Pie?

Overwriting the market version isn't the same as overwriting the data. I hope it preserves accounts when it's released.

This just started happening for me with beta 6. Even though I have the app set to jump to the first *unread* post, it only jumps to the very first post of every ... single ... thread.

some previous reported issues noticed still present in beta 6

1) going from notification still takes you to the first page of the thread instead of the newest unread post. the page number at the top even indicates page 1/1 even though there are many pages (I.e. this thread).

2) using dark theme, the page selection and post box still white with black text instead of other way around

If it makes a difference, cleared cache and data from previous versions and uninstalled them prior to installing beta 6.

Yep, ditto. I was really hoping this would get fixed.




And the forum icons still disappear. They work on wifi but disappear when I switch to 4G or 3G.
