Will people be able to report posts from the app?
  3. gr8whtd0pe New Member

How can I access the moderation features? I'm an Admin at a forum but i can't see them :(
    Actual 1.11.2 version...

Btw: its running great, no force closes for me...

This is annoying. I know its out of date, fix your plugin and I'll upgrade. Until then I'm stuck seeing this everytime I load your app. [IMG]

Whats the issue you are experiencing on the new forum plugin?
  8. Gav1n1Tn New Member

    I'd like to know too.
  9. gr8whtd0pe New Member

I've mentioned it in several threads. Ever since 3.0 it shows no new posts unless I change my forum settings.

My users don't like it being by db instead of cookies like it has been.

I just don't know why you all changed your code?
  10. Gav1n1Tn New Member

Which forum settings are you talking about? What effect does it have on showing new posts? Thanks
  11. Gav1n1Tn New Member

Gotcha. I've just been hitting "All" on the iPhone. I just went to my site on my iPhone and there were new posts that were not showing under "Unread" but the only way to know was to hit "All".
  12. gr8whtd0pe New Member

Then what's the point of having an unread tab? If you go to your site and click new posts it only lists ones that you have not read yet.

This app used to do that like it should, and then like the picture uploads they changed it.

Oh, I agree with you. That's just the way I've been dealing with it.

TTT Would love to see edit/delete feature for mods/admins at the very least. :D

I've admined and moderated quite a few forums in "DBT" (Days Before Tapatalk) and have never really cared for mobile mod capability... until this week. I was just tapped to moderate a board where I've been extremely active lately, so I'll toss in my +1 here as well.

Actually, mod powers in Tapatalk would cause the 4 mods of our board to recommend Tapatalk over that other app (rhymes with "Forum Slummer") which is now installed. Then, once the board goes Tapatalk, the mods will be so impressed with the new features they'll begin beating the regular users over the head to use Tapatalk... thus selling more copies of the app... it's win/win if you think about it! ;-)

    Case,

Are there any specific feature it is currently missing that you would like to see?
  17. CanCanCase New Member

There's the rub... right now, I don't exactly know what mod features I'm missing because I haven't been upgraded to a mod just yet. I've been asked to research the various mobile apps, and actually recommended Forum Runner about 6 months ago when it had a native iPad version and Tapatalk did not. Now that both are fully iOS native, I do prefer Tapatalk, but would need some seriously cool mod features to sell the idea of changing the forum (unless Tapatalk and FR can coexist on a board together, but I have my doubts.)

If I were building a Tapatalk wish list IN ANTICIPATION of my moderator's needs, I would say:
    - editing/deleting of posts
    - lock/unlock threads
    - prune/move threads & combine threads/prunes
    - approval of new-members' posts while they're on probation

If Tapatalk currently has some or all of these capabilities I'd love to see a screenshot or be able to demo... I don't suppose there's a vB forum sitting out there that needs a mod to mess things up testing Tapatalk?

I do realize this is all a business and there's got to be some profit in the deal somewhere. One of the big selling features of FR at this time is their ability to re-brand the app and make the resulting app free to forum users for use in that forum. This is a global trade organization, and at this time the marketing and IT director has an aversion to paid apps. Does Tapatalk have re-branding and free single-forum limited app capability?

    Hello Case,

Except the fact that we currently do not support merge topic / posts. We have everything works. Also the plugin is to be designed standalone and can co-exist with pretty much anything, including FR.

What I'd like to see is the ability to delete a member and all of their posts. This is a feature on Phpbb and it's really useful for those times when a spammer fills the forum with spam.
